Designing the Regeneration

This new webinar series celebrates regenerative design solutions to today's biggest challenges. By following nature's patterns in how we design our indoor, outdoor, and social spaces, we can address climate change, hunger, and biodiversity loss — while building a more resilient, abundant world.

Hosted by Soil Food Web Foundation Permaculture teachers Kavi Reddy and Delvin Solkinson, this series features instructors from the upcoming Soil Food Web Permaculture Design Certificate — including regenerative agriculture and permaculture educators, a panel of Soil Food Web School leaders, and renowned voices like Geoff Lawton and Mary Reynolds. Offered in partnership with the Permaculture Association, honoring the legacy of Graham Bell and Dr. Elaine Ingham.

Seeing the Land Before You Design It: 1m LiDAR Topographical Maps for Permaculture Design

Event time in PT2:00 a.m.Tuesday, August 25 · Pacific time
Event time in UTC09:00Tuesday, August 25 · UTC
"Permaculture is a holistic, living-in-harmony-with-nature worldview, as well as technical approach for how to do so."
- Brian Barth

Great Permaculture Design starts with reading the land — yet most designers work from coarse contour maps, guesswork, and expensive site visits. In this session, David Sussberg shows how 1-meter LiDAR terrain — sharp enough to see half-foot contours beneath the trees — transforms the observation phase of design. You'll see a real property in an interactive 3D Topographical Map: where water flows, pools, and absorbs; what the soil is doing underneath; where swales, ponds, and keyline patterns belong; where & why permaculture guilds and food forests are placed on that water story. Holistic observation, deeper insight, and a design you can verify before a single shovel hits the ground!

Event time in UTC18:00Sunday, September 13 · UTC
As the numbers grow of those who, like Graham Bell, consolidate their knowledge in real projects, so wasteful systems will change, and we can only create widespread change by cooperating to create our own future…Each of us need do very little to create a sustainable future; it is only the sum of all our small efforts that changes society and land-care ethics. Graham outlines the way forward. Good luck to all of us.
- Bill Mollison, co-originator of Permaculture

Permaculture design applies the secrets of nature’s success to the way people design gardens and farms as well as lives and livelihoods. Meet the live session instructors and learn about Graham Bell’s legacy Permaculture Design Certificate Course offered through the Soil Food Web Foundation in co-operation with the Permaculture Association featuring 78 teachers from 22 countries. Understand the topics and course formats as well as the feature map and design project for a meaningful place where you live. Meet other people around the world who are also interested in joining this conscious global classroom for greening your skillset and resume with an internationally recognized Permaculture Design Certificate.
