Soil Health, Fungi, and the Soil Food Web

11:00 a.m. Pacific time on Thursday, June 13 (that’s 7:00 p.m. London time)
Mycologist, Dr. Adam Cobb and Soil Biology Pioneer, Dr. Elaine Ingham will be exploring how soil fungi cooperate with plants and other microorganisms in the soil food web; together they support multiple beneficial outcomes in agricultural and natural ecosystems.

For example, fungi play key roles in the aggregation of soil, accumulation of carbon, and supply of nutrients to partner plants and trees.

Adam and Elaine will celebrate the diversity of the fungal kingdom, including saprotrophic and mycorrhizal behavior.

Ultimately, these amazing relationships promote harmony between plants, animals, land, and humans.

If we help create healthy soil ecosystems, fungi, bacteria, protozoa, and nematodes will empower the restoration of earth’s biosphere. Understanding how these biological interactions work is key to supporting soil health.

Applying Permaculture and Agroecological Principles

2:00 p.m. Pacific time on Thursday, June 20 (that’s 10:00 p.m. London time)
In this webinar we’ll be looking at some Case Studies of very different projects that have a common thread – Soil Health.

Permaculture Designer Delvin Solkinson will be presenting a community gardening project demonstrating the application of permaculture principles on a small scale.

Farmer Cory Miller will be presenting the work he’s been doing to transition over 3,000 acres in Montana using the Soil Food Web Approach.

Renowned Ecologist and Filmmaker, John D. Liu will be presenting a video he made about one of the biggest restoration projects in the world from China, where an area the size of Maryland was fully restored from an arid desert, to a lush, green and highly productive ecosystem.

You’ll get to see Permaculture and Agroecological principles in action and the wonderful results that can be achieved when we work in harmony with nature and soil biology.
